I was referred to this restaurant through restaurant.com . Looked it up on yelp and it showed it to be open until 9pm and didn't show any other times difference for Sunday. We drove from the 4 seasons resort, like 30 min away and they were closed. I called and spoke to someone on phone and they said sorry we close at 6 on Sunday and will reopen at 11am tomorrow. So we drive back out the next day and it's around 3:30pm and the dining area is dark, no lights on. So we enter into the bar area with our 6 children and are hit in the face with the pungent smell of smoke and asked the bartender if they were open and she said they don't open until 4pm but she could wait on us. She had only been working there for 2 weeks. She sat us in the dining area and we waited for her to turn on the lights. We asked for a Shirley temple drink for our children and she didn't know how to make it or that is was on menu. I let her know I have coupons for the restaurant.com and she said she will get the owner. So the owner comes out an says they are not set up with the technology to scan coupon from my phone that it needs to be printed and I can only use one of them. So she brought an example out for me to see and explained that they are only registered through restaurant.com for ex posture to get more business. So the bartender brought drinks and then offered chips and we said sure. The chips were leftover and stale from the night before. So we decided at the point we needed to leave. This really is centered toward being a bar and not really for a family. I left very disappointed and sad that I have to write this review because the owners husband I am sure wanted the restaurant.com exposure to help prosper their business. Not sure if they lived on premises but there were 2 beautiful pit bull dogs in the back of the parking lot. One was chained to a tree and one was fenced in. The bartender was nice and tried her best in the whole situation.

Well we waited to be seated for 5 min with only three other tables...now another 5/10 for chips and salsa --- now to take orders... Oh my whatever you do do NOT ask for cheese on enchiladas instead of sauce on food!! Not a place to revisit... Nice people just NOT service oriented. I feel like I'm in twilight zone!?!? Bad to worse!

Wow. This place is about the worst Mexican food I've ever had. Here's why: 1) more of cigarette smoke-filled bar than a Mexican restaurant, 2) food tasted awful, 3) owner is out of touch and still harbors ill-will against "Yankees"....(and not the baseball team.). Nice people, just out of touch.

Friday evening at the Lake. The place was quiet & clean. Our waitress was friendly and quick... maybe a tad too quick *shrug* We're used to friendliness in Missouri but not always quickness :P I'm pretty sure we were eating about 8 minutes after we got out of the car. I had the inevitable taco salad. Veggies = fresh, Meat = plenty, and just enough beans. The taco bowl was crispy but I only ate a bit of it. The salsa was medium spicy. There was also a big dollap of sour cream on top of the salad but my lady swiped it and put it on her plate. Oh well... The owner came over and sat with us for a while and we talked about health, the lake, business... I also hear they are starting up a summer pool league on Tuesday so if you're into that might want to check in. I will definitely be going again.

2 Stars because it was open for once. The bartender acted like we disrupted her alone time by asking for drinks and a menu. The food looked normal, but for what you get It was overpriced with a bland flavor that made Taco Bell sound more appealing and possibly worth the drive. The Margaritas ended up being $10 each. That's more expensive than any of the area lake bars. The bar area is so old and smokey I started thinking of those subconsciously implanted second hand smoke commercials I saw when I was a kid. Unfortunately I have been there 2 other times with similar service and this made the third strike for me. I don't like not being able to support local business, but in this case I can't...

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
